This course for managers focuses on the importance of location data interoperability for transport and mobility applications to enhance urban safety for pedestrians and drivers. Participants will learn about the relevance of geolocation data and services, identify data sources, the role of a performant mobility platform, and understand interoperability challenges.
The course covers Models, Applications, and Services for the Management of Sustainable Mobility, Intermodality and Safety in Urban Areas, along with ensuring compliance with regulations and ethical standards in the use of location-based data.

This course consists of three lectures of 20 minutes each, designed for managers and owners of SMEs involved in data operability, transport, viability, ICT, security, and consultancy within the mobility sector.

  1. Requirements, specification and overall design of a mobility platform (20m)
  2. Models, applications and services for the management of sustainable mobility, intermodality and safety in urban areas (20m)
  3. Regulatory compliance and ethics concerning the use of location-based data (20m)

The course duration is 1 hour.

  • Recognise how to ensure compliance with regulations and ethics concerning the use of location-based data for Social monitoring of road conditions
  • Understand the principles and importance of location data interoperability in Social monitoring of road conditions
  • Understand urban mobility challenges
  • Identify models, technologies, applications, and services that promote sustainable mobility, intermodality and roads safety in urban areas
  • Understand Case Studies and Best Practices towards safer mobility

Participants are recommended to complete in advance the “Introduction to Data Interoperability” course for managers, which provides a foundational understanding of data interoperability concepts and principles.

All the training material is produced by SIIT.

This course is designed for technicians to develop essential skills for integrating data and technology within mobility platforms. Participants will gain insights into the specifications and design of these platforms while exploring multimodal mobility in urban areas. The curriculum covers information services for preventing mobility risks, including apps development for motorcycle and bicycle mobility, and the process for reporting risk points.

  1. Smart and Safe Mobility: the role of Information Services, Apps, and Innovative Projects (20m)
  2. Methods, models, and technologies for advanced video analysis applicable to mobility (20m)
  3. Specification of a hardware and software mobility platform (20m)
  4. Multimodal Mobility in Urban Areas: analysis of challenges and solutions (20m)

The course duration is 1 hour and 20 minutes.

  • Understand the challenges of Urban Mobility and best practices related to data interoperability
  • Identify technological solutions for a practical scenario, as well as the use of tools and new technologies in terms of mobility APPs
  • Recognise methodologies, models and technologies for Advanced Video Analysis applicable to point recognition and risky situations for mobility
  • Understand concepts and outcomes of a mobility platform
  • Identify solutions concerning multimodal mobility in urban areas
