The short courses on data interoperability (one for SME owners/managers and one for technicians) focus on the concepts and challenges of location data interoperability. The course for manager focuses on the policy aspects and on the general concepts, whilst the course for technicians aims to transfer more technical knowledge and skills related to spatial data harmonization according to INSPIRE principles, as building blocks for location data interoperability. For SME managers and owners

The course introduces SME managers and owners to the concepts and challenges of location data interoperability, making them aware of the EU data policies framework and of the development and trends related to location data interoperability. At the end of the course, the participants will know how to integrate location data in their businesses, aware of the challenges, opportunities and implications related to location data interoperability. (From metadata: Context and expected outcomes)

The course is made up of 9 lectures with different durations. At the end of each lecture, 2/3 quizzes are provided to participants, to support their learning process and help consolidating the Learning Objectives associated to that lecture. At the end of the course, an exercise with the tutor is foreseen. Achievement of learning outcomes defined at course level will be assessed by means of a written examination. For technicians and job seekers

The course introduces technicians and job seekers to the technical concepts, challenges and implications of location data interoperability. It will allow to analyse the impact of the INSPIRE requirements and recommendations implementation on the SDI components (metadata, data and services). It will also teach to apply the main GI standards enabling location data interoperability. At the end of the course, the participants will know how to harmonize spatial data according to INSPIRE. (From metadata: Context and expected outcomes)
